It took me awhile to appreciate the work of Jim and Jody Dutcher. I did not understand the value of a setting where humans and wolves lived in close proximity. I had a difficult time deciding how to review this book. Parts of it were really good but I had a difficult time with the premise and that kept me from loving this book. This book serves as a witness to the complex emotional lives of wolves. Great stories told in very different but well written and visually descriptive voices. You will, more than once, shed a tear. Very educational and more importantly enjoyable.
